Issued on behalf of the Isle of Man with a mintage of only 1,000 coins
This is the last Christmas Gold Angel to be released by Pobjoy Mint on behalf of the Isle of Man
Every year a special 1/20oz Gold Angel is released on behalf of the Isle of Man to celebrate the Christmas season. Only a limited number of these unique coins are struck with a special Privy Mark which changes on an annual basis.
The Gold Angel, which bears a design showing the Archangel Michael slaying the Dragon, is one of the World’s foremost bullion coins and since medieval times has been thought to bring good luck and health to the bearer. First issued in 1984, the design on the coin is only the third Angel design in the coin’s history.
This year’s eagerly awaited limited edition coin bears a custom Privy Mark on the reverse representing Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. These were the very first Christmas Gifts offered by The Three Kingsin Christian tradition.
Each coin has been produced to the highest quality and struck four times to display finely sculpted frosted detail contrasting with a mirror brilliant background. The coins are encapsulated and presented in a handmade case with a Certificate of Authenticity which makes this coin an ideal Christmas Present.
Design
Available in Proof 999.9 Fine Gold, the coin has been approved by Buckingham Palace and bears a fine effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lord of Man, by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS (View Designer’s Profile).

The coins are encapsulated and presented in a handmade case with a Certificate of Authenticity, which makes this coin an ideal Christmas Present.
