The European Central Bank (ECB) today introduced the new ticket 50 €, which will enter into circulation on April 4, 2017. The introduction of the new bill is the last step to make it even safer euro banknotes. After tickets 5 €, 10 € and 20 €, 50 € ticket is the fourth title of the second series of euro banknotes series called Europe.

"The introduction of the new banknote of 50 € will make our currency even safer," said Yves Mersch, a member of the Executive Board of the ECB. "Its advanced security features help protect our money. They are the result of our ongoing efforts to preserve the stability of the euro, the currency used daily by 338 million people in the euro area. The gradual introduction of new banknotes in euros elements provided new and improved security underscores the commitment of the Eurosystem to cash as a means of efficient payment and generally accepted."

The 50 € is the most used of all euro banknotes and represents 45% of all banknotes in circulation. There are more notes in circulation 50 € 5 €, 10 € and 20 € added. The number of tickets 50 € in circulation is almost equal to the total banknotes of all denominations was in circulation at the end of 2002, year in which euro banknotes and coins were introduced.

The new € 50 ticket includes a picture window, a new and innovative security element already used on the ticket of 20 € Europa series. When the note against the light, the transparent window at the top of the hologram shows a portrait of Europe, a character from Greek mythology, which can be seen on both sides of the note. The portrait is also on the watermark. In the front of the bill an "emerald green number" brilliant number that changes color when tilted, emerald green to dark blue, and produces a metallic reflex that moves vertically seen. These security features allow you to easily check the authenticity of the new ticket 50 € with the "feel, look, tilt" method.

So that you can better understand the new ticket, I leave a link to a prospectus where an extensive dossier, you can know all the security measures introduced the new ticket and important information.

I have also prepared a montage of all videos released by the ECB which make our presentation of the new ticket, show us their security measures, we can see the production of paper and finally how the tickets are printed. I recommend you see this, it is very interesting.
