It has solved the great mystery in the commemorative 2-euro coin Luxembourg 2016 dedicated to the 50 Years of the Bridge of Grand Duchess Charlotte. The mystery to which I refer was knowing where would place the picture of Grand Duke Henri on a coin dedicated to a bridge (must appear in the currency by law). Finally it was decided to place it on top of the bridge, ruling that appeared down, left or right, or on it.
Leaving aside this note of irony, to say that we know the sketch of the first coin of its kind to Luxembourg in this 2016 issue, dedicated to the 50 Years of the Bridge of Grand Duchess Charlotte, popularly known as the Red Bridge.
The issue volume for this piece will be 500,000 units at a date yet to be determined.
Bridge Grand Duchess Charlotte
Built entirely in iron, painted in red, it is the symbol of the ECSC (European Coal and Steel Community). Save the Alzette along 335 m and has a width of 25 m. At its western end is the monument to Robert Schumann, 'Father of Europe', born in Luxembourg. The assembly was opened by the Grand Duchess Charlotte in 1966.
