The world leader in the sale of precious metals for coin-shaped investors, The Perth Mint Autralia, has just presented the 2020 designs of its world-famous bullion-type coin program. All currencies are backed and guaranteed by the Australian government itself

Meticulously designed with the highest finishes available, the Australian Bullion Coin Program is composed of 99.99% purity gold, also 99.99% purity silver and 99.95% platinum.

Offering new and impressive interpretations of the iconic native animals for the Australian Kookaburra, Australian Kangaroo and Australian Koala coin series, the 2020 program also presents the first design of the highly anticipated III Australian Lunar Series, a series that will be understood over the next 12 years.

Coins dedicated to the year of the Rat
In Chinese mythology, 12 animals ran among them across a river to win the favor of the Jade Emperor. The cunning mouse climbed into the ox and jumped from his back to win the race. For this he was rewarded as guardian of the first year in the ancient lunar calendar.

In 1995 The Perth Mint launched the world's first series of coins with the 12 animals of the Chinese lunar calendar, the third series of Lunar series coins begins with emissions that celebrate the Year of the Rat. In addition to the usual versions of gold and silver, the new series includes as a novelty those composed of platinum.

The 2020 coins present naturalistic representations of mice that feed between the stalks of wheat on the gold and platinum coins, and on the corn husks on the silver coins.

Kookaburra Coins
The kookaburra is a large bird, essentially Australian. Famous for its loud "laughter," the iconic native is often referred to as the "Bushman's Clock" because of his habit of singing at dawn and dusk.

The Australian Kookaburra, a long-time favorite among silver coin investors around the world, turns 30 in 2020. To commemorate its historic launch, the coin features a special obverse with a Stuart Devlin representation of a kookaburra in a tree stump, as it appeared in the Australian Kookaburra silver coin of 1990.

Kangaroo Coins
Australia's first and most prestigious international offering of gold investment coins was presented by The Perth Mint in 1986. Synonymous with the nation's preeminent position as a gold producer, refiner and artisan of gold products, the Australian kangaroo quickly It became one of the most charismatic currencies in the world. Today it is also offered in pure platinum and pure silver, which gives investors access to a trio of classic investment metals.

This year's small gold coins portray two kangaroos in the midst of a group of xanthorroeóides, known simply as grass trees. Through its archetypal combination of native flora and fauna, the design embodies the remote beauty and fascination of the interior of Australia. The largest gold coin, along with those of platinum, are represented by the red kangaroo of Stuart Devlin, a highly admired representation created for the Mint by the former goldsmith of the Queen in 1989.

Koala coins
The widespread recognition of the koala as a symbolic member of Australia's unique marsupial family meant the launch of the Australian series of Koala silver bullion coins in 2007, since then it has proven popular worldwide. Coming from a land often associated with menacing wildlife, the koala is a more docile, if not adorable, animal that spends large amounts of time sleeping in the trees and eating leaves of its favorite species of eucalyptus.

In a simple but highly effective artistic representation, the 2020 coins portray a koala in a characteristic position on a tree branch.
