The sculptor Gustav Vigeland was born on April 11, 1869. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vigeland, the Bank of Norway today issued a commemorative coin with a facial of 20 crowns (2.09 euros). The currency is legal tender and is issued at face value.

The Bank of Norway invited five artists to participate in a contest to design the anniversary motif on the back of the coin. Håkon Anton Fagerås won the competition with the motif "At work". The motif is an imagined scene that represents the modeling process of the sculptor.

The motif of the coin represents Gustav Vigeland while he contemplates the sculpture "The fetus". The currency has the inscriptions: "GUSTAV VIGELAND 150 ÅR" (Gustav Vigeland 150 years) and the denomination of the currency (20 KR). The signature of the designer "HAF" (Håkon Anton Fagerås) is below in the lower right.

The obverse of the coin shows King Harald V of Norway in a profile portrait looking to the right. Around the portrait: HARALD V ∙ KING OF NORWAY. To the left of the portrait, at the height of the neck, appears the signature of Ingrid Austilid Rise, recorder of the mint of Norway. In the lower part, the year of issue "2019" and the mint mark appear.
