On October 10, two coins have been issued in Ukraine with facials of 5 and 20 grivnas minted one in alpaca and the other in silver, to commemorate the "Centennial of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine", founded on November 27 of 1918.
20 Grivnas
On the reverse side of the coin is the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in golden color, on which the inscription "100 YEARS" appears; the portraits of the presidents of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and their names are displayed around the building; in the lower part of the coin we read: NATIONAL / SCIENCE ACADEMY / UKRAINE.
On the obverse of the coin there is a small emblem of the State of Ukraine (top left), under which the inscription UKRAINE appears, on the top right, the face value: 20 GRIVNAS, in the center, the texts of the law that approved the founding of the academy on November 14, 1918. Under the stamp of the Ukrainian state, in gold, left and right the years 1918 and 2018.
5 Grivnas
On the back of the coin is a portrait of Volodymyr Vernadsky, founder of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in the background the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, on which are the inscriptions: NATIONAL / SCIENCE ACADEMY / UKRAINE; Below is a stylized figure of the number 100 and in its center the years 1918 and 2018.
