The Italian mint Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS) has been exclusively in charge of the coinage of the entire euro currency of San Marino, but this seems to have come to an end, I do not know if it will be definitively or sporadically. The fact is that the next two coins issued by San Marino on June 28 have been minted and designed by the Austrian Münze Österreich, which gives them a plus of quality by having one of the most prestigious and award-winning Mint Houses in the world.

250th anniversary of Canaletto's death
Coined in sterling silver 925 this coin with facial of 5 euros is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the death of Canaletto.

The coin reproduces a beautiful view of Venice, taken from the work "View of the San Marco basin from the Canal della Dogana" (1740-1745), preserved in the Pinacoteca de Brera. The artist was one of the leaders of the genre of Vedutism, which in the eighteenth century had an exceptional international success and knew its greatest expressions in the representations of the "lagoon city", becoming the symbol of the rich and serene city, Venice was immortalized in the splendor of its palaces and in the grandeur of its churches overlooking the water, within a timeless atmosphere.

European Year of Cultural Heritage

Coined in sterling silver 925 this coin with facial of 10 euros is dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

The aim of the European Year of Cultural Heritage is to encourage more people to discover and get involved in the cultural heritage of Europe and strengthen the sense of belonging to a common European space. The year will see a series of initiatives and events taking place across Europe to enable citizens to come and learn more about their cultural heritage. The coin celebrating this event is a detail of the famous "Supper at Emmaus" by Caravaggio (1605 - 1606), preserved in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan. The paint is characterized by a deep intimacy and chromatic essentiality with a theatrical, dramatic light highlighting the sanctity of the moment depicted use.
