We have already discussed the first Spanish coin minted on 1 kilo of pure silver, dedicated to the "History of the Dollar", but today I have as a novelty the official video made exclusively for the FNMT that I want to share with all of you, where we can to know more about the currency, especially in aspects related to its design and coinage.

The Currency of 1 kg silver «History of the Dollar»

The Royal Mint wanted to dedicate its first coinage of a one kilo silver coin to the history of the American dollar, whose origins go back to the Central European thaler and the Spanish viceroyalty of America, with the real one to eight .

In the coin are reproduced different numismatic pieces that are fundamental to understand this history of the dollar, its origins and ancestors.

On its obverse we find the image of the first coinage of three historical and internationally recognized currencies: the United States dollar, the Central European thaler and the real one of eight Spanish in its typology known as "world and sea columner".

On the reverse, reproduce images of four coins of the thaler type , issued by different Central European countries between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.

Characteristics of coins

Face value: 300 euros
Metal: 999 silver
Weight: 1007 g
Diameter: 100 mm
Shape: Circular with plain edge

The currency is conceived as a collection currency, not investment, since having a face value of 300 euros, this amount should be paid to the Public Treasury, something that is already expensive and expensive. If you look, the investment currency, worldwide, usually have low nominal values that make it more affordable.
