Within the "Personalities of Ukraine" series, the Bank of Ukraine issued on July 11 a coin with facial of 2 hryven minted on an alpaca alloy, dedicated to the painter Iván Konstantínovich Aivazovsky, considered one of the best artists in marine paintings Of history, which marks the 200th anniversary of his birth.
On the back of the coin is a portrait of Ivan Aivazovsky, to his left the inscriptions Ivan Aivazovsky (in semicircle) and 1817/1900 years in which he lived; To the right, under a curtain, we see the signature artist.
The obverse of the coin shows the fragment of one of his works. As is customary in all Ukrainian currencies, the national coat of arms of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are also represented.
