Slovakia issued its 2-euro commemorative coin for this year 2017, dedicated to the 550th Anniversary of the Istropolitan University, on 4 January. Another form, which we do not speak at the time, in which you can get this piece, is a combined philatelic-numismatic composed of an envelope, a stamp of 1.40 € and the currency itself, all dedicated To the same reason.

Of this product, only 1,500 copies have been issued, at a price of 8 €.

You can also get the coin in one of the 4,000 coincard that put the Slovak mint for sale at the price of € 7.70.

Currency Description

The motif shows the image of a teacher and two students in front of the facade of the former Universitas Istropolitana of Bratislava. In the upper left of the motif is a medallion of King Matías Corvino, founder of the university. On the medallion appears the inscription "1467", year of opening of the university. The country of issue, 'SLOVENSKO', appears at the base of the inner circle, on the year of issue, '2017'. Along the left edge of the inner circle is the inscription 'UNIVERZITA' and, along the right edge, 'ISTROPOLITANA'. In the lower left part of the motif is the mintmark of the Kremnica (Mincovňa Kremnica) coin factory, ie the letters 'MK' between two sheets. Underneath the mint mark are the stylized letters "MP", initials of the designer, Mária Poldaufová.
