O nouă monedă comemorativă portugheză - 19.09.2016

With an allusive currency D. Catherine of Braganza (1638-1705), infant of Portugal and Queen Consort of England, Scotland and Ireland as wife of King Charles II of England, continues the series of coins entitled "Europe Reinas" which aims to remind Princesses of Portugal who reigned in Europe. 



Designed by José Viriato, the coin shows on the obverse the representation of a cup of tea and the caption "Five O'Clock Tea" (tea at five o'clock), recalling the introduction of this drink at the English court by Queen Catherine of Braganza. On the reverse, the figure of D. Catalina, inspired by the portrait by Peter Lely shown.
