On 8 October 2016 the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of Croatia meets to commemorate this date as indicated, the Croatian Bank plans to issue and circulate a bimetallic coin of 25 kunas allusive to the subject. New for this type of currency, the design will be chosen from three shortlisted that we can vote on the website of Bank of Croatia until next August 20.

Croatia began issuing bimetallic coin in 1997 with the currency of 25 kuna. That same year he issued three different currencies and in later years issued a year and commemorative different reasons. All have the same physical characteristics: diameter 32 mm, weight of 12.75 grams. dodecagonal shape. Core alloy of 92% copper, 6% aluminum and 2% nickel, the ring is cupronickel (75% copper, 25% nickel).
